Cutest reporter ever interviews Joe Biden
“Senator Biden is now my home boy.”
Awesome.
Biden rips it
Please bear with this for at least the first 3 minutes. It’s worth it. Trust me.
Love. This. Guy. He laid it down and put it to bed. Note, though, that no matter how firey he gets, the crowd cheers.
Now look how cheery Palin’s crowd is:
My email to David Brooks
Thought you might be interested in my email to David Brooks regarding his column The Palin Rebound:
“She established debating parity with Joe Biden.”
I’ve been reading your columns for almost a decade now, beginning with The Weekly Standard. As an independent, I’ve always valued that your conservative position never seemed to compromise a balanced, intellectual analysis. Until now.
Palin did herself quite a few favors in the debate last week, but one thing she did not do was establish “debating parity with Joe Biden.” That’s the sort of comment I expect from Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh, not David Brooks. Palin may have kept herself from drowning, but Biden swished by with a Phelps-like butterfly stroke.
Palin’s speech was riddled with run-on, incomplete and sometimes incoherent sentences. What sound arguments she did put-forth oozed with the sort of “I just memorized this stuff last week” weariness that inspires anything but confidence. Just because there were no 15-second pauses or blank stares doesn’t mean Sarah Palin is a debater.
All that trivial, folksy nonsense may work for Joe Sixpack, but it does little for those of us who still read the newspaper. This November will mark my first vote for a Democrat seeking a national office. I will keep reading your column, though now with that much more skepticism.
Candidates as The Simpsons
From Daily Kos, something I wish I had thought of (and also photoshopped):

“Whatever, Wilkie. Where’s the effing comedy?”
Fine! Here’s your effing comedy.
VP Debate in a minute
Not quite as good as the last one, but it’s decent.
Palin: Worst thing Cheny has done was “duck hunting accident”
Yeah, not the usurping of power or the undermining of the Constitution – the duck hunting accident!
The latest ad
One of Biden’s jabs from last night. It was also the only comment which compelled the audience to break their vow of silence during the debate.
Fact-Check: VP Debate
For those who care about facts. Nerds.
A more trustworthy poll
CBS conducted a more comprehensive, nation-wide poll than did Fox News:
Who won the debate?
- Biden 46%
- Palin 21%
- Tie 33%
Is prepared for the job of VP
- Biden 97%
- Palin 55%
“She catered to just like, kind of an adorability”
One thing you can’t fault Fox News for: lack of persistence. They decided the best place to poll (and by poll I mean show of hands) likely voters was inside Anheuser-Busch headquarters, which sounds to me like a totally objective place to conduct such a poll. Right.
